If you have · one fridge or freezer

Choose a Fridge Monitor Kit.

$149 1 sensor · $199 2 sensors

Use one sensor for one compartment. Choose two for separate fridge and freezer zones, each with its own recorded-air range.

Choose your kit →

If you have · several appliances or another home

Use one kit per appliance.

From $149 per appliance

Each kit includes its own smart-plug Gateway and sensor. Add more sensors when you want extra zones inside the same appliance.

If it travels · cooler, lunch box, or insulated bag

Choose ColdMinder Trace.

$65 1 sensor · $109 2 sensors

Your phone while the app is open—or a nearby Gateway—sends current readings. Sync trip imports readings stored on the sensor.

Why ColdMinder

What is actually different.

Recorded-air honestyRecovered readings are marked, gaps stay visible, and a frozen record can be shared. Informational, not certified compliance.
Gateway, not a separate hubThe appliance plugs into the smart-plug Gateway, which measures its power and hears nearby sensors.
Trace for what travelsUse a phone while the app is open or a nearby Gateway for current readings; Sync trip imports stored readings.
First Live Plus year includedEach eligible kit includes it for the first year. Hardware keeps monitoring, alerting, and recording without it.

ColdMinder compared with five temperature-monitoring systems

ColdMinder $199
2-sensor kit; pre-order. 1- and 4-sensor kits also offered.1
Each eligible kit includes Live Plus for the first year. After that, Live Plus is $29/year for every home you own and add to the billing account. Renewal is automatic each year until canceled, and every charge is fully refundable on request. It does not unlock an additional shipped product. The hardware keeps monitoring, alerting and recording without it; shipped features will not move behind a paywall retroactively.2 1, 2, or 4 in a kit; add more later. Each reading point is explicit. Separate appliance zones such as fresh side, freezer, door, and crisper; each judged against its own range. App push; opt-in email backup. No SMS or cellular. No cellular. If outlet power or internet service fails, live monitoring stops. ColdMinder checks every five minutes and marks monitoring paused after at least 20 minutes without a report. Sensors keep recording; use Sync trip in the app to import stored readings. Recovered readings are marked, and any remaining gaps stay visible. History plus one clear record, a time-temperature guide, honest gaps, and a frozen public temperature-record snapshot. Informational, not certified compliance.2 Smart-plug power metering, with two sensors including a low floor witness recommended for keezers. No temperature control is shipped; it is not part of the current release.
GoveeLife H5179 $49
2-pack shown; the page also lists pack variants.3
No fee listed; cloud export described as free.3 2 in the compared pack; one measurement point per sensor. Multiple sensors can be placed where wanted; no appliance-specific zone model is listed. Govee Home app notifications. AA-powered sensors continue locally, but remote updates depend on home Wi-Fi/internet. No cellular or dedicated power-loss alert is listed. App graphs, 20 days of online viewing, and export of up to 2 years; no frozen public record is listed. No appliance-control hardware listed.
Temp Stick $149
Classic model price shown.4
No monthly fee; unlimited logging and monitoring described as included for the sensor’s life.4 1 all-in-one sensor; add a unit for each additional point. One point per unit; no appliance-specific zone model is listed. App push, email, and text/SMS.5 Battery sensor keeps running. The cloud supports internet-loss alerts, but remote temperature updates need Wi-Fi; the separate +Power model explicitly adds AC-outage detection. Cloud history/data logging; no frozen public record is listed. No appliance-control hardware listed.
SensorPush HT.w + G1 $169.94
$69.99 sensor + $99.95 gateway.67
No monthly fee for the gateway cloud service.7 1 in this basis; G1 supports many sensors. One point per sensor; add sensors for more locations. App push and email with G1; no native SMS listed.8 HT.w stores about 45 days. If G1 loses power/internet, remote monitoring stops; cloud checks gateway status about hourly. A nearby phone can still monitor over Bluetooth.9 App/cloud history and CSV export; no frozen public record is listed.10 No first-party appliance-control hardware; a cloud API allows custom integrations.
YoLink kit $59.99
Hub + 2 temperature/humidity sensors.11
Core service has no fee listed; one hub + sensor includes 15 free SMS/month, and additional SMS terms may apply.12 2 in the kit; add hub-compatible sensors. Multiple independent points; no appliance-specific zone model is listed. App push, email, and text/SMS; compatible with Alexa and IFTTT. Battery sensors continue sensing, but remote alerts need a powered, internet-connected hub. The compared kit lists neither cellular nor hub battery backup. History and export are described in the sensor documentation; no frozen public record is listed.13 No control hardware in the kit; the wider YoLink ecosystem supports automations.
MarCELL PRO dual $209
Dual freezer/refrigerator monitor.14
$14.95/month billed annually or $24.95 month-to-month for cellular service. 2 temperature points: base unit + wired probe. Two separately configured safe zones. Phone call, text/SMS, and email, to multiple recipients. Strongest outage path here: internal battery plus 4G LTE can send a power-loss alert without house Wi-Fi.15 Downloadable history at 30-minute intervals, stored without a listed time limit; no frozen public record is listed.16 Monitoring only; no appliance-control hardware listed.

Choose the strength you need.

MarCELL’s cellular and battery-backed outage path is the clear fit when independence from house internet matters most. SensorPush is unusually good at storing history on the sensor. GoveeLife and YoLink make multi-point monitoring inexpensive. Temp Stick keeps the whole setup in one battery-powered unit.

ColdMinder’s difference is one clear record.

It combines multiple zones with plug power, an explanation of the likely cause, a time-temperature guide, and a shareable frozen temperature record. That richer explanation is the reason to choose it—not a claim that the other products are poor thermometers.
