Fridge & freezer monitoring

Monitor your fridge or freezer with confidence.

ColdMinder monitors recorded air temperature in fridges, freezers, and wine fridges, then shows the latest received readings, a likely cause when the data supports one, and what to check next.

What it says

A clear status first — details when you want them.

The first thing ColdMinder shows is what matters: whether recorded air is in range, what may have changed, and what to check.

Needs you

You caught the kitchen fridge warming.

The pattern looks like a door left open. Check the door now.

Built around the job

What are you keeping cold?

Measured, dated, ready to share

A letter already written from what we measured.

Pick who it's for — a repair shop or your landlord — and ColdMinder drafts a dated letter from the record: measured findings, charts with the window burned in, your own note kept separate, and an optional read-only record link that needs no login. Nothing is sent until you send it.

The kit

The kit, in ten minutes.

Plug in the gateway, place the wireless pucks, and let the app guide the rest.

Step 1 of 3

Plug in the gateway

The gateway connects to nearby sensors and tracks the appliance's power use at the outlet. Your appliance can plug into it.

Step 2 of 3

Place the pucks

Place wireless temperature-and-humidity sensors on a shelf, in the door, or in the freezer. The app shows how recorded air differs by location.

Step 3 of 3

Rest easy

ColdMinder normally stays quiet while recorded air remains within the set range. Separate battery or connection alerts can still appear. When a temperature alert fires, it includes a likely cause when the data supports one and what to check.

Vented lid for appliance air · typically about a year on a coin cell with on-board memory · freezer-rated shell down to −4 °F (−20 °C) · optional peel-and-stick ring

The gateway

The gateway plugs into a nearby wall outlet, receives readings from nearby sensors, and measures the appliance's power draw. Your appliance can plug into it.

The sensors

Temperature, humidity, and motion — smaller than an AirPods case, a year on a coin cell, and memory that rides out outages.

History

See what changed — and what's changing.

Temperature, humidity, and appliance power appear on one timeline. ColdMinder can mark patterns consistent with a door opening, defrost cycle, or recovery after a warm load; these are estimates. Weekly summaries show the percentage of recorded-air readings in range, estimated door openings, and estimated recorded-air recovery.

example · one fridge · 24 h temp humidity compressor
door · estimated cool-down ≈ 3 h · estimated
recorded-air readings in range 99.1% · 98.4% last week door openings 34 · estimated recorded air returned to range in ≈ 3 h · estimated

A likely cause, clearly explained

ColdMinder names a likely door, compressor, or reporting pattern only when the measurements support it.

A time-temperature guide

For food compartments, see recorded-air time above 40°F beside USDA two-hour guidance. Recorded air is not food temperature or a verdict on food condition.

Compressor work, over time

A gradual increase can prompt a service check even while recorded air remains in range. It is an indication, not a diagnosis or prediction.

rated · 412 kWh/yr measured pace · 447 kWh/yr · estimated

Energy against the model's rating

The gateway measures appliance draw and places its estimated pace beside the certified rating when the model is known.

Trends, event labels, and comparisons are estimates from your own measurements.

Live monitoring needs power and Wi-Fi. Trace live coverage needs a nearby gateway or the open app; stored readings import later and gaps stay visible. ColdMinder is not a safety or medical device.
